About Thalner:-

Thalner has played significance role in history of khandesh. Thalner is situated at foot of Satpuda range and on the bank of Tapi river. It is 16 k.m. away to east from Shirpur, in Dhule district. Thalner was a capital of Kumbhakarna srips (gharana) in ancient period and a capital of Faruki strips (gharana) in mediaeval period. Shiv temples of Hemad sectarian like Thaleshwar since ancient period and Tombs (Kabars) of Faruki period have been standing in Thalner. Once, Thalner was important commercial center on the Surat – Burhanpur highway. The name Thalner probably derived from the old temple of Thaleshwar. Today it is just a small village which lost its glory to history. Thalner is also recognized as maternal grand parent’s place of world popular singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Late Annasaheb P. S. Wadile Arts College provides for education in under- graduate courses in the faculties of Arts. Late Annasaheb P. S. Wadile Arts College began with just 113 Students. Today students registered for 208 various course in the college.
