The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of our college was established on June 2015 and has become an integral part of the college’s system and work towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. Over the years, the IQAC has developed a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of the college, evolved mechanisms and procedures for ensuring that the objectives of the IQAC as envisaged by NAAC are met and has made a significant and meaningful contribution towards channelizing efforts and measures towards academic excellence.

The IQAC of the College coordinates all quality-related activities by developing an organized methodology of documentation and internal communication. It works to enhance and integrate the various activities of the College and to ensure the adoption and dissemination of good practices. The IQAC spearheads the conduct of the internal and external evaluation of the departments, which promotes quality, accountability and transparency.

Objectives:

As per guidelines of NAAC the objectives are

  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
  • To promote teaching staff towards research, orientation course, refresher courses, faculty development programme and check their API scores for the CAS related issues.

Functions:

  • To develop strategies for curriculum delivery, quality in teaching-learning and research;
  • To facilitate the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty development to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
  • To Collect and analyse feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
  • To organize international/national/state/university level workshops, seminars, conferences on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;
  • To document of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement;
  • To Act as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices;
  • To develop and maintain institutional database for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality;
  • To prepare and submit the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC.

 

COMPOSITION

IQAC may be constituted in every institution under the Chairmanship of the Head of the institution with heads of important academic and administrative units and a few teachers and a few distinguished educationists and representatives of local management and stakeholders

The composition of the IQAC may be as follows:

  1. Chairperson: Head of the Institution
  2. A few senior administrative officers
  3. Three to eight teachers
  4. One member from the Management
  5. One/two nominees from local society, Students and Alumni
  6. One/two nominees from Employers /Industrialists/stakeholders
  7. One of the senior teachers as the coordinator/Director of the IQAC

ion Plan for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up-gradation of institutions of higher education, the meetings of IQAC has been conducted periodically and Proceeding of meetings are well maintained. The Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) has been prepared and submitted to NAAC Office, Bangalore in stipulated time period in every year.

Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the institution’s system and work towards realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. For this purpose, during the post-accreditation period, it has channelized all efforts and measures of the institution towards promoting its holistic academic excellence.
